Job Description Region: Tokyo/Japan

1. Strengthen and further develop the sales organization in Japan to raise the maturity of the Target Operating Model (TOM), working closely with sales excellence and business development, and continuously monitor performance.
2. Develop and implement sales and business plans tailored to the Japanese market to achieve revenue and profitability targets, reflecting local customer needs and market conditions.
3. Establish and manage local pricing policy in alignment with regional and global strategies, ensuring competitiveness in Japanese market.
4. Build and maintain long-term partnerships with key Japanese customers, trading houses, and government authorities, conducting negotiations when required. Support key account managers and collaborate with the strategic business unit OEM.
5. Identify, analyze, and consolidate Japanese market and product requirements, and share insights with strategic sales management to ensure alignment with global strategy.
6. Develop and implement Japan-specific go-to-market strategies in cooperation with VP region, strategic sales management, and product management, including local target setting and performance monitoring.
7. Oversee the overall financial management of Wilo Japan, including budgeting, cost control, and financial reporting, in compliance with group standards and in collaboration with accounting & controlling.
8. Recruit, manage, and develop local employees, enhancing capabilities through performance management and coaching, while ensuring compliance with HR policies and Japanese labor law.
9. Ensure adherence to Wilo’s corporate governance guidelines and Japanese legal/regulatory requirements, serving as a role model for ethical and responsible business conduct.
Job Requirement • Degree in technical engineering / business management
• > 8 years’ experience in similar role
• Prior experience in managing a legal entity, P&L responsibility, and leading teams preferred
• Proven experience in sales and business development in the Japanese market
• Language: Local Japanese candidate, Business-level English.
• Experience working in a global matrix organization
• Familiarity with Japanese certificates and regulations (e.g., PSE, NK, WRAS)
• Strong problem-solving skills, leadership, and decision-making capabilities
• Established network with Japanese partners, clients, and authorities preferred
• Willingness to travel domestically and internationally as required
